Here is the low down on a Milk Bath session, You need to take the proper steps to ensure a successful session.

I have learned from trial and errors, and these are based on my own personal experience.

First and foremost, PLAN ahead, gather your supplies – Two gallons of whole milk, LOTS of flowers, Greenery, speaker and Step stool. Women typically choose to wear a lacey cover or minimal clothing.

Before my session I like to prep the flowers, I decorate the surrounding of the bathtub. In this behind the scene session I used fake foliage with real flowers weaved in to complete my tub look.

Once your client arrives you can set the mood with some nice tunes and start running the water. I chit chat with my client and grab a few shots before they climb in the tub & began their soak.

TIP #1 – Fill up the tub 2/3 with water a little hotter than you would like so when you add in the cold milk it is the perfect temperature! I have my model get in and adjust the level appropriately, you do not want them to be fully submerged if you are doing a maternity session.

TIP #2 – After adding the milk to the tub, allow your model to get in, then you decorate the water with the flowers. Placement is everything, remember the flowers will get drowned in the water, I only put 2/3 of the flowers in and save the rest to decorate as the session progresses.

TIP #3 – Once you have wrapped up your session I suggest repurposing the flowers. Check out that time when I used the roses to make homemade rose water!

Bonus tip ** Have a grocery bag or two handy so your model can place their wet garments.
