One thing I have experienced as a photographer is everyone assumes the most popular locations are the best ones.. Most of the inquiries have a place in mind for their session or want you to suggest where you think is good.
Truth is when you go to the local photography hotspots there are often other photographers there with clients.
You have to get there early for a spot or deal with waiting for a certain location… I mean when you are shooting for sunset you do not want to lose the beauty waiting for the spot to clear up!
If this is you and you love this routine – that is perfectly fine , go on with your bad self! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this… I mean lets be real I LOVE me some Lake Louisa. You pretty much can find me there weekly!

How to find secluded, beautiful scenery for sessions..
PRO TIP .. Contrary to the popular vote I believe the most bomb photoshoot locations you could possibly find are random side of the road.. you heard me.. the dang side of the road!
What do I possibly mean? –> well let me help you visualize //
You are in a neighborhood and you see a nice trail with lovely forest type tree vibes.. why not note the time and bring a client there?
Or that time you were driving down the street and saw that red dirt road in the middle of nowhere? Don’t you think that would make a beautiful backdrop for just about any session?!
Better yet, have you taken a stroll in your yard.. My favorite sessions have been at my own house! – the front porch, patio or even the stair case make wonderful photo ops!
– Who agrees with me and already uses these types of locations?
– Who is now going to keep their eyes peeled for the next hidden gem!?
